Stakeholder meeting held to advance the draft Tiruppur master plan
Tiruppur’s local planning area will grow from 220 km² to 514 km², Housing and Urban Development Department Principal Secretary Hitesh Kumar S. Makwana said on Saturday.
He chaired a stakeholder consultative meeting on the draft master plan at the Tiruppur Collectorate in the presence of the Director of Town and Country Planning E. Saravanavelraj, District Collector S. Vineeth and other officials. .
A press release said the local planning area will include local organizations namely Tiruppur Corporation, Samalapuram, Thirumuruganpoondi, Avinashi and Uthukuli Town Panchayats and eight village panchayats in Tiruppur panchayat union namely Pongupalayam, Kanakkampalayam, Kalipalayam , Perumanallur, Ettiveerampalayam, Mangalayam, Mangalayam, Mangaaiam. .
Apart from this, it will also include three villages of the union of the panchayat of Pongalur, namely Nachipalayam, Peruntholuvu and Thonguttipalayam; six village panchayats in the Avinashi panchayat union such as Thekkalur, Sembianallur, Velayuthampalayam, Pudupalayam, Kaniampoondi and Palangarai and four village panchayats each of Uthukuli (Chengapalli, Muthampalayam, A. Periyapalayalayam and S. Periyapalayam and S. panchayat, according to the statement.
The meeting, organized by the Local Planning Authority, discussed aspects such as the protection of water bodies, the establishment of industries, the protection of the environment and the safe disposal of solid wastes, construction and medical with NGOs and business leaders. Changes will be made to the draft master plan accordingly and will be submitted to the state government for approval, the statement said.
