US delegation visits Ekiti to meet with stakeholders
April 11 (THEWILL) – A team from the United States Mission to Nigeria arrived early Monday in Ado-Ekiti, as part of its efforts to ensure that the upcoming gubernatorial election in the state is free. of violence.
The delegation led by Brandon Hudspeth, the political/economic chief covering southern Nigeria, also includes Jim Suor, the security chief covering southern Nigeria; Janine Lewis, Political Officer covering the South West; Sterling Roop, USAID Democracy Officer; Halima Abubakar, Program Management Specialist, USAID, and will meet with leading gubernatorial candidates during the June 18, 2022 gubernatorial election, including All Progressives Congress candidate, APC, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji; the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr. Bisi Kolawole and Engr. Segun Oni of the Social Democratic Party (SDP).
The delegation will also meet with traditional rulers of the state as well as other stakeholders to ensure a peaceful and transparent election.
